Abbie & Liam held their wedding on a sunny September day in Canmore, starting with a first look overlooking the mountains and followed by an intimate ceremony and reception with their closest friends and family.
We often get asked what kind of directional role we take on your wedding day. And from posed portraiture to pure candids, we believe there is a place for direction — but also spontaneity in your day. A first look is the perfect example of a place where we want to document. We will set you up in a beautiful backdrop (for Abbie & Liam it was this scenic spot with a mountain backdrop). We will make sure the angles are right, but then, we want this moment to be real. We step back and document you two, together. And in this case, their first look was followed by private vows — another purely documentation moment.
Following the first look and private vows, we took Abbie & Liam around the park for a handful of more directional shots. But something important to remember is that although we take a more active role in these photos, there is lots of room for authenticity in these shots as well.
